(Technical) Product Manager with sales skills


Our customer is an international player in the design and production of panel processing machines with a very extensive range. Their products and software provide innovative and integrated solutions to improve production processes.

It is a family business run by the second and third generations, with home base in West-Flanders.

They continue to grow and have combined their expertise with that of other companies for an even broader product offering. This was done through multiple acquisitions. In this context, they are looking for an experienced Product Manager.

As a Product Manager you are responsible for the development of the markets and the promotion of the products within the group with the aim of expanding the market for these products.



  • You regularly meet key accounts, potential customers and strategic objectives.
  • You develop adequate sales tools and documentation to support the sales force in expanding the new business.
  • You are the global direct support to the sales group and agents for the product line. This means you spend an average of 50 days on travelling every year (but you get an extra for this!).
  • You are in charge of the development of presentations and demonstration of the products.
  • You guide the demo technician in the home base (West-Flanders) for the products.


  • You review and prepare quotations and supporting documentation for special projects.
  • You act as a project manager for large projects and are responsible for the overall project planning (i.e. involved from (pre-)sales to commissioning at the customer).
  • You are the intermediary between the customer and other stakeholders for major products.
  • You take the necessary actions to ensure that the projects achieve their objectives.
  • You communicate with all stakeholders.


  • You advise on new directions in future product development through input from “the market” (customers, competitors, engineering, etc.).
  • You evaluate the company’s performance in different markets (profitability, customers, risks,…) to ensure long-term profitable growth for the company.
  • You advise management on the strategic position of the company through in-depth knowledge of the competition and their products.
  • You decide on integration solutions with other products.



  • Master’s degree in Electrical-Mechanical Engineering, a relevant technical discipline (Machine Engineering – Metalworking).
  • 5-10 years of experience in sales management, preferably in a comparable market (of mechanical engineering or sheet metal working, cut & bending, steel, etc.).
  • Good knowledge of Dutch, English, French, German.
  • You have a driver’s license.
